Super Falcons Complete Dominant Friendly Double Over Senegal With Convincing Win
The Super Falcons of Nigeria wrapped up their preparations for the 2026 WAFCON in impressive fashion after defeating Senegal 3-0 on Monday.
The victory completed a successful two-match friendly series for Nigeria, following their 2-1 win in the first encounter.
Super Falcons Show Patience Before Breaking Senegal Resistance
The opening 45 minutes ended without a goal despite several attacking efforts from both teams.
Nigeria came closest to taking the lead when Joy Omewa connected with a clever pass from Rasheedat Ajibade, but her strike hit the post and bounced away.
The Falcons continued to push forward, but Senegal’s disciplined defence stood firm. The visitors also looked dangerous on the counterattack, making it a competitive first-half contest.
Joy Omewa and Ajibade Inspire Super Falcons Victory
Nigeria returned from the break with renewed energy and quickly found the breakthrough.
Just three minutes into the second half, Omewa headed home from a well-delivered cross by Shukurat Oladipo to give the Super Falcons the lead.

Omewa struck again in the 56th minute, finishing confidently to double Nigeria’s advantage and put Senegal under greater pressure.
As the game progressed, Rasheedat Ajibade continued to pull the strings in attack, creating chances and driving Nigeria forward.
Head coach Justin Madugu later refreshed his side by introducing Asisat Oshoala and Esther Ijamilusi.
The changes paid off almost immediately as Oshoala added a third goal in the 66th minute. The experienced forward calmly converted after another excellent assist from Ajibade.
The result sealed a commanding performance from the Falcons, who finished the two-legged friendly series with back-to-back victories over Senegal and valuable momentum ahead of the 2026 WAFCON.
