Edo Queens got their NWFL Super Six campaign back on track on Monday evening with an emphatic 4-1 victory over FC Robo Queens, securing their first win of the competition.

Edo Queens Dominate Early Exchanges Against FC Robo Queens
Robo Queens almost grabbed the lead early in the contest after carving open the Edo Queens defence. Opeyemi Ajakaye rounded the goalkeeper but saw her effort crash against the woodwork and bounce to safety.
Edo Queens responded immediately and began to dictate proceedings. Their first real chance came from a dangerous delivery from the right flank, but the intended target failed to connect in time.
The Benin-based side thought they had found the breakthrough moments later after beating the goalkeeper, only for the referee to rule the goal out for offside.
Edo Queens continued to pile on the pressure. Favour Nkwocha came close in the 10th minute after skilfully beating her marker inside the penalty area, but her final effort sailed over the crossbar.
The breakthrough finally arrived in the 32nd minute. Chioma Moses showed great determination to dribble past two defenders before unleashing a powerful strike that beat the goalkeeper and gave Edo Queens a deserved lead.
Moses doubled the advantage shortly afterwards. Released on a swift counterattack, she held off a defender, powered into the penalty area, and calmly slotted home to make it 2-0.
Edo Queens nearly added a third before halftime when a powerful shot was parried by the FC Robo goalkeeper into the path of Favour Nkwocha. However, her follow-up effort struck the woodwork and went over the bar.
Another late first-half counterattack almost produced a third goal, but the Robo goalkeeper made an excellent save in a one-on-one situation to keep her side in the contest.
The first half ended with Edo Queens firmly in control at 2-0.

Edo Queens maintained their intensity after the restart and extended their lead in the 59th minute.

Substitute Precious Oscar made an instant impact, firing a powerful effort from the edge of the penalty area into the back of the net just minutes after coming on to make it 3-0.
The goals kept coming for the reigning champions. Four minutes later, Chioma Moses burst down the left flank on a counterattack, outmuscled her marker, and delivered a low cross into the box.
Mary Mamudu arrived at the perfect moment to finish clinically and make it 4-0 in the 63rd minute.
With Moses leading the charge and Oscar making her mark from the bench, Edo Queens completely dominated the contest.
FC Robo eventually pulled one goal back four minutes from time. Florence Godwin Freda tapped home after sustained pressure, capitalising on a defensive lapse from Edo Queens to score a late consolation goal.
Despite conceding late, Edo Queens comfortably saw out the remainder of the match to record an impressive 4-1 victory and revive their NWFL Super Six title ambitions.
