Super Eagles flying across Europe, Boniface at it again

It is no news that Nigeria is currently blessed with a plethora of in-form attackers and a good number of them had a solid showing for their club side over the weekend. Let’s kick things off with the one turning the Bundesliga into his playpen; Victor Boniface.

*Victor Boniface* ‘ *s* superb start to his spell in Germany with Bundesliga outfit, Bayer Leverkusen, continued on Sunday afternoon when his side locked horns with newly promoted side, Heidenheim.

Boniface netted a brace in the encounter, taking his goal tally to eight in all competitions played this season(7) to see his side get a 4-1 victory.

Boniface scored his first goal in the ninth minute when he lunged the ball into the bottom right corner from Exequiel Palacios’s pass and later converted from the spot for his second, in the 74th minute.

A stat from Opta revealed that Boniface In his fifth Bundesliga match has scored two plus goals for the third time – making him only the third player in the competition’s history to do so, after Erling Haaland in 2020 for Borussia Dortmund and Jan Mattsson in 1976 for Fortuna Düsseldorf.

Simon had an exceptional game in Nantes’s 5-3 victory over Lorient on Saturday. The Nigerian winger scored a goal and delivered two assists to see his side grab the victory.

Simon’s first assist ushered in the possibility of a comeback for the yellow canaries as Matthis Abline curled in Nantes’equaliser in the 42nd minute while his second assist opened space for Mollet in the 84th, to net their fourth of the match.

The 28-year-old then converted from the spot at the death to wrap things up for his side and get a much deserved goal.

*We take a look at Ademola Lookman, the man finding his form.*

Lookman scored his second goal of the season in the 33rd minute against Cagliari at the Gewiss Stadium, on Sunday afternoon.

Lookman’s 33rd-minute strike broke the deadlock for Atalanta and gave them the boost to grab all three points at home.

Lookman opened his goalscoring account in Atalanta’s 3-2 loss to Fiorentina and has now scored back-to-back goals.

*And to the last but not the least, Cyriel Dessers*

Cyriel Dessers scored his first Scottish Premiership goal of the 2023/24 campaign on Saturday afternoon, against Motherwell.

Dessers first-half goal was enough to see off Motherwell, as he deflected Rabbi Matondo’s strike past Liam Kelly in the 24th minute.

Dessers would get a chance to get a second goal at home to Aberdeen on Saturday, September 30, 2023, by 15:00.
