Our attention has been drawn to the press statement made by one Darlington Adango and Golden Tobin, that Tobin Chieftaincy House Distances Self from Unveiling of Finima Masterplan.

The Chairman, Mr. Agomienye Mark Tobin, and executive of TOBIN KONIB0-YE-AWANTA OPU ASAWO of Finima Community in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State has reacted to the press statement made by one Darlington Adango and Golden Tobin, stating that the House was not consulted, did not participate and did not send any representative to the event.

They went further to state that the organizers did not have the endorsement or mandate of the Tobin House to represent its interest, warning corporate bodies such as the international oil companies (IOCs) to be wary of such claims.

We the members of Tobin Konibo-Ye-Awanta Opu Asawo hereby state as follows:

1. That we want to categorically state that the three Chieftaincy houses came together and agreed to carry out the program titled “Finima Community Development Masterplan Workshop” that took place on the 21st to 22nd of July, 2023 at Finima Town Hall Finima Town, Bonny Island.

2. That, Chief Engr. Dagogo Lambert Brown consulted all houses in Finima on the Finima Community Development Masterplan Workshop.

3. That Darlington Adango and Golden Tobin do not have any right to speak on behalf of Tobin Chieftaincy house, neither were they mandated by the house to make a false press statement.

4. We want to state that Chief Engr. Dagogo Lambert Brown has the full support of Tobin Konibo-Ye-Awanta Chieftaincy House on the Finima Community Development Masterplan.

5. That Tobin House was well represented at the program, and as such some individuals in the house will not stop the community from moving forward based on their selfish interest.

6. That one of the speakers on the program, Amaopusenibo Jonathan Tobin, a former Executive Director of Bank of Industry (BOI), is an illustrious son of the house/community has the interest of the community at heart. He also has the mandate of Tobin Chieftaincy House to represent the house.

7. That members of Tobin House are happy with Amaopusenibo for participating on the program as one of the dignitaries and speaker.

8. That Darlington Adango and Golden Tobin, who are claiming to be Chairman and Secretary of Tobin House, are imposters causing problem in the House and Finima at large.

We hereby call on the International Oil Companies (IOCs) and General Public to be aware of their dubious character and disregard the frivolous press statement made by Darlington Adango and Golden Tobin. That Tobin Chieftaincy House was well represented and involved in the program and that’s the truth, as such the International Oil Companies (10Cs) should give their support in carrying out any Developmental Project for the community being their host.
