Nigerian Navy, Bonny LG Partner in Fight Against Insecurity, Illegal Bunkering

The Nigerian Navy says it was poised at deepening synergy with the Bonny Local Government Council and other relevant stakeholders to assure security in its areas of operations.

Commanding Officer of the Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base (FOB), Bonny, Capt. Mohammed Adamu said this on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 in Bonny when he, alongside his management team, paid a Courtesy Visit on the Chairman of Bonny LGA, Anengi Wilcox.

Capt. Adamu expressed satisfaction with the efforts of the current administration at the Bonny Local Government Council concerning the fight against insecurity, explaining that he was visiting with the Bonny LG Chairman to seek her “assistance, collaboration, and blessings”, announcing that under his watch the Nigerian Navy would escalate the fight against insecurity and illegal oil bunkering.

He informed that in its bid to take war against economic sabotage a notch higher, the Navy would amplify the efforts that are already on ground in ensuring that the precincts of Bonny waterways and its adjourning villages are free from criminality.

Responding, the Bonny LGA Chairman, Anengi Wilcox expressed her administration’s desire to strengthen collaboration with the security agencies, especially, the Nigerian Navy, noting that she would not be carried away by the peace that is currently being enjoyed in her domain.

She asserted that her administration would rather strengthen the working relationship with the various security agencies in the area towards firming up strategies and tying up all loose ends that may have unwholesome potentials around the main town, waterways and villages of Bonny.
