A House of Representatives aspirant, Helen Jack-Wilson Pepple has declared that once she is elected into office to represent Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency, hushed voices such as those of the downtrodden, commoners, women, youth and children will be heard loud and clear in the Green Chambers.

Pepple made this declaration shortly after her screening on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at the Rivers State Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Port Harcourt.

“I believe that the downtrodden, commonest of the commoners, women and children should have a strong voice at the Green Chambers.”

An entrepreneur, educationist, gender rights advocate, and politician, Helen Jack-Wilson Pepple, who is currently the Bonny Kingdom Woman Leader, assured that her robust professional and entrepreneurial background in the public and private sectors and versatile political network, especially, at the grassroots, was a guarantee for effective representation for the people of the area.

“I’m suitable for the job because of my robust career background that crisscross the public and private sector and my integration with the grassroots which would give me the leeway to efficiently advocate for their course at the Green Chambers.”

The Bonny Kingdom Woman Leader’s aspiration connects with the general clamour by stakeholders in the PDP to avail women the opportunity to fly the party’s flag for the House of Representatives position, with majority asserting that taking this stance would imply reasserting the PDP’s reputation as one that prides itself in the enthronement of gender equity.

Already, several high profile stakeholders, who applauded her courage to seek election to represent the Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency, point to her philanthropy, compassion, clear focus and vivacious personality as qualities that would ensure she attracts the dividends of democracy to the constituency which comprises Degema and Bonny LGAs.

Reacting to her successful screening by the party, a former Caretaker Committee Chairman of Bonny LGA and high ranking member of the PDP, who asked not to be mentioned because of the sensitivity of the matter, urged party faithful to rally round the Bonny Kingdom Women Leader, declaring that “with Amaopuorubo Helen Jack-Wilson Pepple, the party is already having a clear walk over in the forthcoming general election”.
