Nigeria Karate Federation: NSC Officially Affirms Dimkpa as President, Ending Leadership Crisis
The National Sports Commission (NSC) has officially reaffirmed Engr. Elekwachi Chukwudi Dimkpa as President of the Nigeria Karate Federation, bringing an end to the leadership uncertainty that has lingered since the federation’s election last year.
The commission’s decision effectively settles the prolonged dispute over the federation’s leadership and provides a clear direction for the future of karate administration in Nigeria.

Engr. Dimkpa is a respected engineer, business executive, sports administrator, and public servant with extensive experience in governance, strategic planning, and organizational leadership.
Before becoming President of the Nigeria Karate Federation, he served as the South-South Chairman and a Board Member of the Karate Federation of Nigeria, contributing to policy development, athlete welfare, sponsorship initiatives, and the overall growth of karate across the country.

His commitment to the sport extends beyond administration. Over the years, he has personally supported the organization of national and regional karate championships, backed Team Nigeria’s participation in major international competitions, and promoted initiatives aimed at improving the standard of karate management in Nigeria.
Speaking on the development, Director General of the National Sports Commission, Hon. Bukola Olopade, reiterated the commission’s commitment to fairness, equity, and good governance across all national sports federations.
Olopade also appealed to members of the karate community to embrace peace, reconciliation, and unity following the decision.
He encouraged the newly affirmed federation president to maintain an open-door leadership style and work closely with all stakeholders to strengthen the sport and drive its continued development in Nigeria.
