Lawmakers pass Vote of Confidence on LG Chairman, Legislative Leader

For their performance in the areas of security, infrastructure, and socio-economic development, the Bonny Legislative Assembly has passed a vote of confidence on the Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, David Irimagha, and Leader of the Bonny Legislative Assembly, Miriam Hart.

The lawmakers predicated their decision on the developmental projects being executed by the Governor, the Bonny LG Chairman, and the Leader of Bonny legislature, in their respective domains.

The motion calling for passing a vote of confidence on the Bonny LG Chairman and Legislative Leader, which was unanimously passed by the Bonny Legislative Assembly, was moved by the Councilor representing Ward 9, Bonny LGA, Prince Wilcox.   

For the Bonny Local Government Chairman, the lawmakers pointed to the Ghana woman bridge at Ogogo community, renovation of staff quarters for staff of the local government council, reconstruction, renovation and expansion of the new Bonny main market, clearing, sandfilling and grading of two link roads to connect Bagg Jumbo community and Simidia area of Abalamabie community to the Workers Camp area, as projects that when completed will enhance the living standards of the people of the area.

Other projects enumerated by the Bonny LG Councillors include empowerment of 1,200 youths and elders, construction of an abattoir at the new Bonny market, purchase of 200 horse power Yamaha outboard engines to support security on the Bonny waterways, and provision of 2,000 desks for primary schools.

Kristina Reports findings indicate that the motion was passed by the entire house comprising the Leader, Miriam Hart, Deputy Leader, Dipinye Jumbo, Chief Whip, Fiberesima Pepple, Councillors Ward 1, Christian Jumbo, Ward 2, Kingston Hart, Ward 5, Ibianga Brown, Ward 6, Esther Pepple, Ward 8, Mie-Iyeoju Jumbo, Ward 9, Prince Wilcox, Ward 10, Seth Adolphus, Ward 11, Ibinye Igoni-Wilcox, and Ward 12, Solomon Pollyn.

According to a statement by the Bonny Legislative Assembly, “the house unanimously agreed that the Executive Chairman and the Leader of the house have performed creditably well, hence the entire members of the Bonny Local Government Legislative Council resolved to that a vote of confidence be passed on them and is hereby passed by the house”.

“The entire house sincerely appreciates your frantic efforts and pledged to support your administration”.
