The Bonny Legislative Assembly has added its voice to the growing clamour by several critical institutions and stakeholders for the Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Dame Anengi Wilcox to contest the forthcoming local government elections
The Assembly, just as other stakeholders, is anchoring her request on her impressive performance since assuming office.
A statement by the Press Secretary to the Bonny LGA Chairman, Boma Waribor said the 9th Bonny Legislative Assembly led by its Leader, Larry Ibaningo, took this unanimous decision during the 3rd session of its 4th sitting on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at the Legislative Chambers, Bonny, Rivers State.
Presenting the resolution of the Assembly to the LG Council Boss at the Government Lodge, Bonny, Rt. Hon. Ibaningo said the call was preceded by a vote of confidence in her favour in view of the verifiable projects and programmes she embarked upon in the past two years, adding that the cap best fits her.
Responding, the Bonny LGA Boss expressed gratitude to the Legislative Assembly for the confidence reposed in her to the extent of calling on her to contest, saying she would continue to be at the forefront of contributing to the peace, progress and prosperity of Bonny.
