The President of the Waste Management Association of Nigeria (WAMASON), Chief Akpabio Ndarake Esien, AmbGW, JP heartily felicitates with women on today’s International Women’s Day celebration.
The event is celebrated annually around the world today to amplify the sterling contributions of women to societal development and their unique place in the growth and wellbeing of society.
Harping on this year’s theme: “Inspire Inclusion”, Chief Esien, highly regarded as a motivator, philanthropist and goal getter, described women as “the pillar of society and as such deserves to be celebrated everyday”.
He explained that the role played by women in the furtherance of an egalitarian and progressive society cannot be underreported or underestimated thus the need to celebrate them.
Chief Ndarake Essien stated that he is a great supporter of women as his involvement in charity work in various organizations is a way to support women and children as well as uplift humanity.
Further on this year’s theme of the celebration, “Inspire Inclusion”, the philanthropist advocated for the absorption of women into different sectors of the society such as government, lawmaking, health, security, etc.
“Affirmative action is not just to include women, it means you inspire them to take the rightful place in government, politics, health, security, lawmaking, everywhere. Educating, empowering, equipping, and encouraging them will inspire inclusion for them.”
Chief Akpabio Essien stressed that “this will give them a sense of belonging as well as an opportunity to help in the development of their different areas and the country at large”.
Born in 1966 to the family of Obong Elder N. J. A. Esien and Elder Mrs. Offiong N. Esien of Ikot Ukana, Ikot Edung in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Chief Esien has worked extremely hard to ensure that the standard of life of individuals are made better.
He has been an astute environmentalist for well over thirty years and he has been involved in different fields including the oil and gas sector and has consistently been a humanitarian, helping individuals and groups to achieve their goals and making their lives better
