When waste is properly managed thus ensuring a clean environment, the health and safety of children is guaranteed and their prospects of chasing a profitable future assured, says the President of the Waste Management Society of Nigeria (WAMASON), Chief Akpabio Ndarake Esien, JP, AmbGW.
Chief Esien said this in a Congratulatory Message to Nigerian children he personally signed and made exclusively available to Kristina Reports on Thursday, May 26, 2022.
“I personally congratulate our dear children on a day like this. I am happy for them and wish them the best on this year’s Children’s Day celebration.”
“But I must also use this auspicious occasion to draw attention to the importance of proper waste management and a clean environment and their linkages to the health and safety of children and entrenching these helps to guarantee the future of our children.”
“Parents, guardians and heads of organizations should prioritize the noble practice of ensuring proper waste management and inculcate it as a family culture in homes and corporate culture in our workplaces.”
The United Nations Ambassador of Goodwill (AmbGW), who is a family man and father of four lovely children, expressed his penchant for spending quality time with his family, noting that “I really cherish the time I spend with my family, stressing that this is predicated on his belief that children are at the centre of every successful family.
He called on government at all levels, corporate bodies, heads of various institutions, and other stakeholders to put the interest of wellbeing of children first and demonstrate this by insisting on proper waste management and a clean environment, adding that this year’s children’s day celebration should represent a watershed for rethinking and retooling waste management, sanitation and health.
