In furtherance of its human capital development drive, one of Nigeria’s foremost earthmoving firms, Evomec Global Services Limited (EGSL) has donated books worth N28 million to the Bonny Local Government Council.
The Project Manager of EGSL, Toye Fadare, who made the donation on behalf of the company, said the gesture of donating 100,000 books to the Bonny LG Council was in support of the Educational Development of children in Bonny LGA and support for deepening the knowledge economy in the area.
Vice Chairman of Bonny LGA, Omoni Longjohn, who was accompanied by some officials of the Local Government Council, received the books on behalf of the Council.
Fadare stated that Evomec has been tremendously blessed during its business sojourn in Bonny Local Government Area thus the donation was necessary to reciprocate the benefits the company has received while in the Island.
The EGSL Project Manager disclosed that this was the second time the company was donating 100,000 books to support Education in the LGA, maintained that it was aimed at alleviating the educational needs in Bonny, noting that the gesture was one out of many other corporate social responsibility initiatives being planned for its host community.
Speaking during the brief ceremony, Vice Chairman of Bonny LGA, Omoni described Evomec Global Services Limited (EGSL) as an exceptional organization that cares about its host community, stressing that companies which uphold the interest of Bonny people would continue to enjoy the collaboration of the Local Government.
Evomec’s Chairman/Managing Director, High Chief Peter Onajite Esievo, who is also the Ugherughe 1 of Agboh Kingdom in Delta State, had in 2021 approved the award of scholarships for indigent students of the area, as well as, the release of N500,000 to three youths of the area to invest in any entrepreneurial ventures of their choice.
The company has continued to positively impact its community, Bonny Kingdom and its various communities through CSR initiatives such as support for Education, capacity building trainings, empowerment programmes, and sponsorship of sporting tournaments.

The opening sentence in this article caught my attention.
I am concerned about the figure expressed here; “ EGSL HAS DONATED BOOKS WORTH N28 MILLION TO….” This figure is a huge sum of money and in trying to put it in perspective, schools in Bonny and it’s environs should be flooded with books today. If that’s the case, glory be to God.
On contrary, if the supply’s real worth is less than your figure then you defeat the purpose of putting out this article.
