It was all shades of glory on Saturday, September 14, 2019, when the Fubara Manilla Pepple Chieftaincy House of Ancient Grand Bonny Kingdom coronated a new Chief and Head of House, Se-Alabo (Chief) Waripanye Valentine Manilla-Pepple.

His capping ceremony, which took place at Otobie, headquarters of the Fubara Manilla Pepple House, was witnessed by a large crowd comprising members of the house.

The Fubara Manilla Pepple House comprises the Jack Manilla-Pepple Sub-House of Oguede, Bonny; Ererekiri, Otobie, Iyoba-Ama, and Eferewari communities; and Alibo, Bluejack, Irimagha, and Anidima major families.

The new Chief and Head of the Fubara Manilla Pepple House, Se-Alabo (Chief) Waripanye Valentine Pepple, will be presented to the Amanyanabo-in-Council and Natural Ruler of Ancient Grand Bonny Kingdom, His Majesty, King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III, Perekule XI, CON, and the Bonny Council of Chiefs (BCC) at the King Perekule Palace in Bonny at a date to be announced soon.

A renowned international lawyer, chartered stockbroker, accountant, tested administrator, pastor and minister of the gospel, Chief Waripanye Valentine Pepple is currently the Chairman of the Bonny-Bodo Road Project Liaison Committee.

According to the Chief Security Officer of the House, Alali Michael Pepple, Waripanye Valentine Manilla-Pepple succeeds Lt. Col. Aminiowugha Owen Manilla Pepple (Rtd.), who was allegedly suspended, expelled and later de-recognized by the Bonny Chiefs Council (BCC).

A vote of no confidence was allegedly consequently passed on Lt. Col. Aminiowugha Pepple by the elders and members of the Fubara Manilla Pepple House in agreement with the Bonny Chiefs Council (BCC), thus allegedly deposing him as Chief and Head of the House.

Kristina Reports was unable to confirm these from the Bonny Council of Chiefs (BCC), Lt. Col. Aminiowugha Owen Manilla Pepple, or any elder of the Fubara Manilla Pepple House as at the time of this report.

The CTC, acting on the mandate given to it at a general meeting of the house, called for applications from those interested in aspiring to occupy the stool of the Fubara Manilla Pepple House to serve as Chief and Head. Three persons indicated interest.

Amasenibo Waripanye Valentine Pepple emerged out of the three after screening and was presented to the elders of the house as the Chief-elect.

Consequently, at a general meeting of the House, convoked by the Caretaker Committee, Elders and the Chief-elect at Otobie, headquarters of the Fubara Manilla Pepple House, on Saturday, September 14, 2019, the entire house unanimously called on the oldest member of the House, Pa Parinye Manilla Pepple to carry out the epoch-making responsibility of capping Waripanye Valentine Manilla Pepple as the new Chief and Head of the Fubara Manilla Pepple House.

Incidentally, Waripanye Valentine Manilla Pepple would become the second Chief and Head of the Fubara Manilla Pepple House to be crowned by Pa Parinye Manilla Pepple.

In acquiescence with the age-old tradition of the Fubara Manilla Pepple House, Pa Parinye Manilla Pepple, after capping Waripanye Valentine Manilla Pepple, presented him with the Staff of office, and made him sit on the ancient throne of the house, and declared him the new Chief and Head of the Fubara Manilla Pepple House.
