Family Confirms Death of Nollywood Actor Alexx Ekubo After Battle With Kidney Cancer

The family of late Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo has officially confirmed that the movie star died following complications linked to advanced metastatic kidney cancer.

In a statement released on Wednesday through the actor’s verified Instagram account, the family disclosed that Ekubo passed away at Evercare Hospital after what they described as a courageous fight against the illness.

According to the statement, the actor spent his final days showing remarkable resilience, faith and hope despite the severity of his condition.

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, son, brother, and friend, Alexx Ikenna Ekubo-Okwaraeke,” the family stated.

They added that the actor “passed away at Evercare Hospital due to complications arising from advanced metastatic kidney cancer.”

The statement further described Ekubo as someone who remained spiritually strong throughout his health struggle, noting that he believed his recovery story would eventually become a testimony.

The family appealed to the public for prayers and privacy as they mourn the actor’s passing, while assuring that funeral arrangements would be announced later.
