The Department of State Services (DSS) is said to be in mourning mood as one of its officers is reported to have committed suicide in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

Kristina Reports learnt that the officer shot himself at his Woji residence on Monday, May 22, 2023 with the service pistol assigned to him.

Sources, who preferred anonymity, told Kristina Reports that the officer, who they identified only as Sani, took his life in protest over the refusal of his parents to support his preferred choice of a wife.

They say Sani’s parents are Muslim while his heartthrob is a Christian.

Our sources say Sani was serving at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt before his unfortunate demise.

It was unclear as at the time of this report if it religion was the particular consideration for his parents to allegedly differ with the deceased on his preferred choice of a wife.

Efforts by Kristina Reports to reach the Public Relations of Officer of the DSS, Dr Peter Afunanya on the issue proved abortive as at the time of this report.
