LG Chairman Hails Wike’s Pragmatic Approach to Security, Urges Curfew Compliance

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has been applauded for his proactive approach to security issues and demonstrated determination to ensure the security of lives and properties across the State.

Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, David Irimagha gave this commendation in statement wherein he also directed residents of the LGA to abide by the curfew imposed by the Rivers State Government.

In the statement, titled “EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN OF BONNY LGA, HAS CALLED ON RESIDENTS TO ABIDE BY CURFEW DIRECTIVES BY THE STATE GOVERNMENT” and signed by the Secretary to the Bonny Local Government Council, Omoni Longjohn, the Bonny LG boss noted that the curfew was for the benefit and safety of everyone.

“EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN OF BONNY LGA, HAS CALLED ON RESIDENTS TO ABIDE BY CURFEW DIRECTIVES BY THE STATE GOVERNMENT.

The Executive Chairman Of Bonny Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Engr. David Rogers Irimagha (JP) has directed all residents of the LGA to abide by the curfew imposed by the Rivers State Government.

While issuing this directive to his secretary Warisenibo Omoni LongJohn, Hon. Irimagha noted that the curfew is for the benefit and safety of everyone.

He further stressed that it would help to checkmate and curtail the recent incessant killings of security personnel and innocent citizens by armed bandits across the State.

While recalling that Gov. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike had in a broadcast earlier yesterday, 10th May 2021 reviewed the existing night time curfew across the 23 Local Government Area’s from (10pm-6am) to (7pm-6am) with effects from today, Tuesday 11th, May 2021, till further notice.

That is, the night time curfew in Rivers State is now from 7pm to 6am and will take effects from today, Tuesday 11th, May 2021.

Conversely, the Olga Boss applauded Gov. Wike for his foresight and pragmatic steps in out-waging the insecurity upsurge being perpetrated by enemies of Rivers State.

Engr Irimagha, has assured of doing everything possible to ensure that the curfew is observed to the latter in Bonny LGA as to safeguard the lives of everybody living and doing business in Bonny irrespective of status.

Wike had imposed a night-time curfew across the State in the wake of recent unprovoked attacks on security personnel in different parts of the State by yet-to-be-identified hoodlums.

Consequently, Irimagha had directed all security agencies in Bonny LGA to enforce the curfew to the latter to ensure that lives of properties of residents of the area were secure.
