In fulfilment of his campaign promise and in pursuit of his developmental agenda, Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, David Irimagha has commenced the construction of the Simidia-Workers Camp Link Road that connect the Abalamabie axis of the community with the Finima axis.
Work on the project, which is being handled by Evomec General Services Limtied (EGSL), has kick-started with the clearing of the land to be used for the link road.
The road, which starts from Simidia Junction, through Waterwell Road and connects to Workers Camp is expected to connect Akiama, Oguede, Coconut Estate, Abalamabie, and Bagg Jumbo communities with Workers Camp, Agaja, Agalanga, among other communities on that axis.
According to a statement by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Williams Ogbah Agwu, the Bonny LG boss visited the project site to have a first-hand view and also ascertain the level of job done, so far.
The statement disclosed that Irimagha was accompanied by his Vice, Anengi Barasua, Leader of the 8th Bonny Legislative Assembly, Rt. Hon. Miriam Hart, Secretary to the Bonny Local Government Council, Omoni LongJohn, and his Chief of Staff, Uriel John-Jumbo, among other appointees,.
Irimagha said that “the road, when actualized, will be of great importance to Bonny Kingdom, especially, those living towards that direction and will also attract more development to the area.
He said that the road, when completed, will further enable property owners in the area to gain easy access to their properties with a view to start developing them.
The Simidia-Workers Camp Link Road, which was one of the developmental projects advertised recently by the David Irimagha led administration at the Bonny Local Government Council, would set the tone of developmental strides by the current administration in the area in the coming days.
Some residents of the area, who spoke to Kristina Reports, praised the David Irimagha led government for coming to their aid, as the area had remained impassable for years, saying they would support the government in its efforts to bring succour to property owners in the area.
