Bonny Kingdom Chief Escapes Death as Fire Razes Opuwari in Bonny
A prominent Chief in Bonny Kingdom of Rivers State on the night of Sunday, May 31, 2026 escaped death from a raging inferno that razed his residence.
Eyewitnesses say Se-Alabo Archibald Tamunoala Sotonye Jamaica Allison, who is the Chief and Head of Bilibilibo Jamaica Allison House was gallantly extracted from his residence by able-bodied young men in the area.
He was taken to a safe though undisclosed location but the fire, however, razed down his Opuwari (community hall).
Kristina Reports learnt that frantic efforts were ongoing to put out the fire, which took place at the Oloba Shiri (Allison Square) in the township axis of Bonny Town.
None of residents could say what caused the fire, which many now regard one too many given that this makes about five fire outbreaks in Bonny LGA in the first five months of 2026.
Visuals showing the fire incident which have gone viral reveal a ravaging inferno burning from the very heart of the affected building.
Kristina Reports learnt that it took the strenuous efforts of residents to put out the fire that had consumed several properties in the area.
Concerned residents told Kristina Reports that, so far, no casualties or injuries have been recorded in the fire incident as at the time of this report.
