Bonny Agog as Monarch Commissions LG Chairman’s Mega Project

As a demonstration of her administration utmost respect for anf synergy with the Traditional Institution, the Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State, Dame Anengi Claude-Wilcox will play host to the Amanyanabo and Natural Ruler of Bonny Kingdom, His Majesty, King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III, CON, DSSRS, JP, Edward I, Perekule XI, as the latter commissions the newly built administrative office of the Bonny Integrated Recruitment Centre.

According to a statement she personally signed and made exclusively available to Kristina Reports, Dame Claude-Wilcox announced that the King is expected to commission “the newly constructed Bonny Integrated Recruitment Centre building on Monday, February 5, 2024 at the new BIRC Complex, Bonny, by 10am.”

The astounding edifice, which has changed the landscape and skyline around the Ayambo axis of Bonny Island, sits on a two plot of land along the Hospital Road and opposite the Zonal Hospital, Bonny.

She expressed her excitement and delight to welcome the revered Monarch to the commissioning of newly constructed facilities in the Kingdom, explaining that the new BIRC Complex is a one storey building that houses several offices and training lounges as well as conference rooms and database offices.

She further explained that the various facilities in the building are all equipped to challenge the youths with the modern techniques in vogue and also address the issue of unemployment in Bonny Kingdom.

Dame Claude-Wilcox commended the King for his exceptional leadership style and his unwavering efforts in ensuring peaceful development in Bonny, noting that his ever growing vision for Bonny Kingdom has played an indispensable role in the success of her administration.

She pointed out that the people of Bonny look forward to receiving him, stating that it is an honour to have him commission the new BIRC project for the Bonny people.

In an online message to Kristina Reports, Chairman of the Bonny Integrated Recruitment Centre (BIRC), Louis Banigo expressed gladness over the King’s visit, asserting that the new edifice will give verve to the King’s vision of addressing the unemployment challenge in Bonny Kingdom.

He thanked the Chairman of Bonny LGA, Dame Anengi Claude-Wilcox for “constructing such an amazing building with state-of-the-art facilities aimed at optimizing what we do here to provide jobs for our people’, adding that she has bequeathed a legacy of project delivery that has transformed face of good governance”.

Upon assuming office after being sworn into office in Government House, Port Harcourt on Thursday, October 14, 2021 by the then Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, Dame Claude Wilcox embarked on a needs assessment of the entire LGA.

The recent spate of project deliveries including the newly built and about-to-be commissioned new edifice that would house the Bonny Integrated Recruitment Centre (BIRC) is the strategic response to the findings of that needs assessment drive.

In this particular instance, it is a strategic and well-thought out step towards addressing unemployment in Bonny LGA by ensuring that the drivers of the process have a conducive and optimized workplace to operate from as well as the people they serve having a comfortable place to visit and have their issues addressed.
