Anglican Bishop Excited At Visible Development Strides of Bonny LG Administration

Bishop of the Niger Delta Diocese of the Anglican Communion, Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Oko-Jaja has expressed delight over the visible development strides of the Abinye Pepple led administration in Bonny Local Government Area.

Rt. Rev. Oko-Jaja made this remark on Friday, October 3, 2025, during a courtesy visit to the Bonny LGA Chairman in Bonny, Rivers State.

The Bishop, who was accompanied by other senior clerics, congratulated the Chairman on his successful inauguration, observing that both the Chairman and Vice Chairman are products of the Anglican Church.

He emphasized that the Church’s prayers and blessings would continue to bring peace and progress to Bonny, reassuring the Chairman of unwavering spiritual support.

Responding, the Bonny LGA Chief Executive welcomed the Bishop and his entourage, pledging his administration’s commitment to putting God first in all its affairs.

He assured the Diocese of his administration’s partnership with the St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the appointment of Ven. Peter Blu-Attoni as Chaplain of Bonny LGA.

The Chairman reaffirmed that his government would continue to work closely with the Church in ensuring peace, growth, and the development of Bonny Local Government Area.

The Bishop used the occasion of the visit to offer special prayers for the Chairman, his Vice, Ibinyefagha Alabere, Secretary to the Bonny Local Government, Tamunotonye Jumbo; and other officials of the government.
