Amadabo Launches Book, ‘Fundamentals of Finima’, at 61st Birthday, Cleric Harps on Primacy of Finima

As part of activities marking his 61st birthday celebration, the Amadabo of Finima Community, Aseme Alabo Dagogo Lambert Brown, Kongo XVII has launched his book titled, Fundamentals of Finima.

According to the book reviewer, Steve Ogan, the 56-page book published by High Calling Outreach Publication with International Standard Book Number (ISBN) 9789788558309, helps to explain the history of Finima Community.

Finima Community is in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State in Nigeria’s Niger Delta region.

The book, Fundamentals of Finima was published on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, which coincidentally is the birthday date of Aseme Alabo Brown, who is also the Chief and Head of Buoye Omuso Brown Major House of Finima in Bonny Kingdom.

Ogan said the Amadabo of Finima penned the “Fundamentals of Finima” to discuss his passion for the community and provide detailed explanations of issues around the community.

He explained that the essence of the book is for people to have a deep knowledge of the origins, way of life, leadership and other facts about Finima Community.

“Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, I am here to give a brief task of the book the title of the book is “Fundamental of Finima and its leadership.”

“The book helps tell us the history of the Finima Community and explains the essence of the history generally or particularly the essence of the history of Finima in Bonny as it relates to Bonny.”

“If you read this book you would see the historical primacy of Finima within the Bonny Kingdom.”

“You would understand that Finima were the first arrivals on the Bonny Island, evidence is seen in the endorsement of the Finima leaders over pre-colonial and colonial treaties.”

“From this book we will have an insight into the political structure, especially, in the early 70s and 100s. You will notice that from this book, Kongo, the progenitor of the Buoye Omuso Brown Major House, was the founder and the original owner of the kingdom of Finima, the fundamentals of Finima and its kingship”

“The Amadabo of Finima paints a beautiful and a very bountiful picture of the domains of leadership, the leadership profile from its inception the chronicles, the major and minor chieftaincy families, the existence of the Wariseniapu and the emergence of the caretaker committee.”

Highpoint of the event was the presentation of a two-tier cake with a crown on it to Aseme Alabo Brown, as well as performances by various groups.

Guests at the event included community stalwarts, men, women and youth groups, friends and family of the celebrant, representatives of various organisations and companies.

A musicologist, Amanda Tebowei, who is also a classical and contemporary singer, gave a special rendition titled “Bless This House”, and other songs to compliment the celebration.
