Development Experts Flood Finima as Community Unveils Development Masterplan

It what appears to be a manifest demonstration of ambitious intentionality with its development trajectory, Finima Community in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State will be hosting development experts as it unveils its development masterplan.

Among these experts are Rivers State Commissioner for Works, Dr Alabo George-Kelly, Director General, Rivers State Tourism Management Board, Yibo Koko, Professor Eucharia Nwaichi, former member of the House of Representatives, Randolph Brown, and former Executive Director, Bank of Industry, Jonathan Tobin.

Also on the guests list are Eugene Abels, Nnamdi Mbata, Dr Robinson Sibe, Dr Abarasi Abbey-Hart, Dr Magdalene Iheme, and Ross Alabo-George, among others.

The event tagged ‘Finima Community Development Masterplan Workshop’ with the theme: “…Towards An Urbanized Finima Community” is billed for Friday and Saturday, July 21 and 22, 2023 at the Town Hall, Finima Town, Bonny Island.

The host of the event and Amadabo of Finima, Aseme-Alabo Dagogo Lambert Brown, Kongo XVII was upbeat about the positives expected from the event, noting that the development of the community is associated with its prosperity, stressing that it is important to work with relevant stakeholders to drive the process.

Expressing appreciation to the special guest, Dr George-Kelly, as well as the resource persons, for accepting to grace the event, he pointed out that “Finima has become the melting pot of prosperity for the nation and the international community. So we need to jumpstart the process and get things running”.

Aseme Alabo Brown appealed to the everyone in Finima to jump on the bandwagon of development and sheathe their swords, emphasising that “Finima is for all of us. We’re one family and will remain so. It’s time to come together and see how to make Finima a delightsome land and harness the blessings in our land”.

Finima sits at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean at the mouth of the Bonny Channel and plays host to several multinationals dealing in crude oil and gas, as well as the Finima Nature Park. It is also expected to host the Federal Government proposed Bonny Deep Seaport.
