Two Drivers in Custody After ‘Reckless’ Crash Kills 21-Year-Old RSU Student on Campus

Two drivers are in police custody after a fatal crash that killed 21-year-old Eno Udosen, a student of Rivers State University, near the Road A axis of the institution’s main campus.

Spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, ASP Blessing Agabe, confirmed the arrests on Friday, June 19, 2026.

ASP Agabe said the suspects are linked to the accident that claimed Udosen’s life on Tuesday night.

“The accident happened near Road A axis of the University’s main campus, The body of the victim has been deposited in a mortuary, while investigations are ongoing.”

Udosen’s family is demanding justice. Her relative, Moore Mike-Ogburia, a lecturer at RSU, said the student was returning to their staff quarters when two drivers allegedly racing each other collided and knocked her down.

“Bring the individuals, these reckless drivers to book,” Mike-Ogburia urged authorities.

He blamed the university for failing to act on past traffic violations. According to him, Eno’s death would have been avoided if RSU Management had, in the past, impounded the cars, arrested, and ensured full prosecution of previous traffic offenders.

Mike-Ogburia added that similar accidents occur “in every semester” on campus.

Police say investigations continue as the two suspects remain detained.
