Na Election Period Things Dey Cost wella – Okrikans Lament
As the nation warms up for the forthcoming Elections, the Indigenes of Okrika Local Government has expressed concerning of the hike in the price of goods and services, blaming it on the the forthcoming Elections.
“Na Election Period Things Sabi cost wella wella. Very soon, things go soon scarce, I go dey buy tomatoes 4 for one thousand naira”

These were the exact words of Minaibi, a native of Okrika who spoke to Kristina Reports on Tuesday, May 26, 2027.
Minaibi expressed sadness over the growing price of goods and services, making it unaffordable for consumers.
While the consumers are confronted with this reality, the traders and market sellers are not left out in the picture as Tamuno Mark, a business dealer on fish explained why the prices of things are skyrocketing.
“You know say elections dey come, like this now, to go buy this fish, I know how much I spend, so make dem no expect me to sell am loss both my capital and my little profit I go get. Na the matter we see ourselves so, make everybody calm down.”

In another chat with Kristina Reports, a woman who simply addressed herself as Vivian said the challenge is so much that it is affecting everywhere.
“Make we leave market people, talk about bikemen. These people dey feel like say dem b gods. Small journey, here and here, dem go call price wey you no go believe. I no dey expect anything less, na because of the elections. Very soon, we no go fit buy anything again.”
As the concerns grow, relevant Stakeholders across different groups and platform have encouraged Indigenes to get their Voter’s card to enable dem participate in the forthcoming elections.
