Wike’s Leadership Style Has Made Rivers State, Best Destination for Business – Banigo

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike’s leadership style has ensured that the State becomes the safest place to live and do business, his Deputy, Dr. Ipalibo Banigo has said.    

Dr. Banigo said this on Friday, April 8, 2022 during the exhibition and sales of merchandise produced by beneficiaries of her Skills Acquisition programme at the Degema Local Government Council Secretariat in Degema.

“Rivers State is the safest State to live and do business now in this country, and that is because we have a leader in the person of Governor Wike.”

According to a statement signed by the Head of Press in the Office of the Deputy Governor, Owupele Benebo, and made available to the Media, the State Number Two citizen stated that Governor Wike has enabled the Ease of Doing Business in Rivers State, noting that by prudent management of resources, he has opened up modern roads, bridges, hospitals, schools, and tourist areas for businesses to thrive.  

The Deputy Governor, who expressed delight with the success achieved by beneficiaries of her free skills acquisition programme, said, “I am very pleased to unveil this entrepreneurial products exhibition and auction. I am very proud of what you have done and I will continue to support you”.

Stressing the fact that small-scale enterprises build up the economy everywhere in the world including the German economy, Banigo disclosed that more investments were coming into the State.

“Today is a very remarkable day for us because, with this type of enterprise you will see, as many of you have testified that you have been lifted from one level to another, and this is how we make sure that our youths and young adults find purpose in life, employ other people and unemployment will keep reducing in Rivers State”. 

In his remarks, the Chairman of Degema Local Government Area, Michael Williams, who said the Skills Acquisition Programme was very vast, commended the Deputy Governor for her vision to empower the youths with skills to make them economically self-reliant.

Earlier the Coordinator of the Programme, Pastor Joseph Pettigrew, who lauded the Deputy Governor for her kind gesture, implored the participants to make good use of the skills they acquired during the training to better their lot.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Bright Johnson and Nimi Ambassador, expressed gratitude to the Almighty God and the Deputy Governor for the support given to them to acquire the skills, adding that it has improved their standard of living.
