Victor Moses Ends Goal Drought as Clinton Jephta Fires Inter Turku into UEFA Conference League Third Round

Veteran Nigerian winger Victor Moses and teenage sensation Clinton Jephta enjoyed memorable nights for their respective clubs after producing match-winning performances.

Moses finally celebrated his first goal for FC Kaysar as he inspired the Kazakhstan outfit to a convincing 3-1 victory over FC Zhenys in the opening leg of their Kazakhstan Cup semi-final.

The former Super Eagles star wasted no time making an impact, creating the opening goal just four minutes into the contest after linking up brilliantly with Nurali Zhaksylyk.

His creativity gave Kaysar the ideal start before he doubled the advantage from the penalty spot shortly before halftime to end his wait for a maiden goal in club colours.

Another Nigerian, Imoh Ezekiel, also played an important role in the victory. The experienced forward set up Zhaksylyk’s second goal early in the second half as Kaysar stretched their lead to 3-0 before FC Zhenys grabbed a late consolation through Andrija Filipovic.

Both Moses and Ezekiel were substituted in the closing stages after impressive displays that helped Kaysar secure a healthy two-goal cushion ahead of the decisive second leg.

The goal marks a significant milestone for Moses, who joined the Kazakh club earlier this year and had previously contributed mainly with assists.

The 19-year-old winger found the net for the third successive qualifying match as Inter Turku stunned Turkish side Başakşehir to reach the competition’s third qualifying round.

Having earned a valuable draw away from home in the first leg, the Finnish side carried that confidence into the return fixture.

Jasse Tuominen opened the scoring before Jephta calmly finished Inter Turku’s second goal after the interval, putting the tie beyond the visitors.

His impressive display earned him the Man of the Match award as Inter Turku completed one of the most memorable European victories in the club’s history.
