Tears as Davido, Chioma Lose Son, Ifeanyi, Police Nab Domestic Staff

Amidst rumours that ace artiste, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, and his babymama, Chioma Rowland’s child, Ifeanyi drowned in the family swimming pool, some celebrities have now confirmed the boy is dead.

The late three year old Ifeanyi, who is the first son of Davido, was said to have drowned in his father’s swimming pool at his Banana Island residence in Lagos and was rushed to Lagoon Hospital on Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, where he was certified dead.

Though the parents of the deceased have not made any statements concerning his death, some Nigerian celebrities including Eniola Badmus, Toyin Lawani among others have condoled with the family on the sad development.

The shocking news of Ifeanyi’s death has left many fans of the popular pop star, Davido sad with them expressing their condolences across various social media platforms.

Meanwhile, Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin has confirmed the ad news but also disclosed that about eight domestic staff of the popular musician have been arrested by the Police and are currently being questioned over the incident that led to the boy’s death.  

Hundeyin stated that anyone not found culpable would be released immediately, adding that the ones found culpable of negligence would be held back to assist the command in the ongoing investigation.

“His (Ifeanyi’s) death is confirmed. His (Davido’s) domestic workers have been brought in for questioning and anybody found not culpable will be allowed to go immediately.

“About eight of them were brought in to narrate their version of what happened to assist us in getting what really happened. 

“At the end of their narrations, whoever that is found not guilty of negligence or not culpable in anyway will be allowed to go. 

“Anybody found culpable will stay back to assist us in further investigation. The domestic workers are about eight that were brought in.”
