Registration forms for the inaugural edition of the Ahoada-East Unity Cup has kicks off today, Tuesday, January 23, 2024 and concludes on Tuesday, February 6, 2024.
The Ahoada East Unity Cup, initiated by the Chairman of Ahoada-East Local Government Area of Rivers State, Benjamin Eke, aims to unite the youth through football.
Prior to the Chairman’s Unity Cup, the Ahoada-East Chairman’s Football Cup was in existence but the competition exclusively featured communities within Ahoada-East LGA.

Players were only allowed to represent their indigenous communities, although a single slot was reserved for non-indigenous teams.
However, in a bid to encourage diversity and foster a sense of togetherness among the youth, the Unity Cup allows participants to play for any team of their choice, regardless of their community affiliation.
The tournament, making its debut in the LGA, offers enticing prizes for victorious teams: N1million for the first-place team, N750,000 for the second-place team, and N500,000 for the third-place team.
The tournament date is yet to be determined but will be communicated in due time.
