The 23-year-old forward arrives at the Cegeka Arena on a four-year contract, becoming the club’s second high-profile signing of the summer.

Durosinmi isn’t just an addition to the squad—he’s an immediate upgrade to Genk’s attack.

Known for his imposing physical presence, technical finesse, and lethal instinct inside the 18-yard box, the Nigerian marksman fits Genk’s high-energy playing style like a glove.

While he joins from Pisa SC, Durosinmi really carved out his reputation as a formidable scorer during his time with Czech giants FC Viktoria Plzeň. His track record speaks for itself:

Viktoria Plzeň Record: 35 goals and 10 assists in 86 games across domestic and European competitions.

Career Totals: 150 professional appearances, 54 goals, and 17 assists.

Genk’s Head of Football, Dimitri de Condé, couldn’t hide his excitement about securing the top target, describing Durosinmi as the ideal “classic number nine.”

“Rafiu is a real presence in the penalty area, but he’s also technically gifted and links up brilliantly with his teammates. He holds up the ball, brings others into play, and gives us that extra attacking edge. We needed someone who could hit the ground running to help us fight at the top, and Rafiu ticks every single box.”

Why Genk? Aside from the club’s attacking philosophy and elite reputation for developing world-class talent, an endorsement from fellow Nigerian international Paul Onuachu sealed the deal.

Durosinmi revealed that a heart-to-heart with the former Genk hero convinced him that the Cegeka Arena was his destiny:

“I want to be important for the team from day one, score goals, and give everything in every game. I spoke with Paul about the club, and he had nothing but amazing things to say about Genk, the fans, and how they take care of their players. I am incredibly proud to be a Genkie!”
