Chairman of Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State, Akuro Tobin has charged newly Supervisors in his cabinet to work in synergy in order to deliver good governance to the people of the area.
Tobin gave this charge on Monday, May 8, 2023 during the swearing in of Supervisors, Special Advisers, and Advisers for the Local Government Council in Okrika.
The inauguration is coming shortly after the appointees were screened and confirmed by the Okrika Legislative Assembly.
The Supervisors include; Julie Ikisa, Wilson Daka, Sokari Iyo, Nemi Ajubo, Tamunokuro Ben-Dede, Tamunokwein Iyalla, while the Special Advisers are Tamuno-Opubo Ogbogara, Vincent Bamson, Dennis Perebo, Herbert Amiebi, and Amakiri Dagogo.
Those appointed as Advisers include; Daniel Opuleah Jnr, Aminasori Ibanichuka, Ajari Walter, Igbikiowubo Stanley, Ayodele Igunu, ThankGod Namapele, Tamuno-Opubo Fialaosika, and Asikiyeofori Dennis.
The Okrika LG chief executive pointed out that most of the appointees have served in previous administrations in the LGA, as such the system of governance is not new to them, emphasizing that there is the need for them to work together to achieve set objectives.
Earlier, shortly after the screening of the appointees, Leader of the Okrika Legislative Assembly, Paul Abam urged them to bring their wealth of experience to bear in the discharge of their duties.
He called on them to as well deploy their expertise in diverse areas to deliver their job professionally, enjoining them to join hands with the LG Chairman, whom he described as “visionary”, to deliver more robust infrastructural and human capacity development in the area.
Speaking on behalf of his fellow appointees, one of the Supervisors, Nemi Ajubo thanked the Okrika LGA Chairman for the confidence reposed in him and his co-appointees, saying that they will align with the commitment and seriousness of the Akuro Tobin led administration.
“We want to thank you for finding us worthy to serve with you. We also want to assure you of our absolute loyalty to ensure that your benevolent light is given to the wards and polling units of Okrika Local Government.”
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Okrika LGA, Akuro Tobin, has appointed Achemie Ogan as his Deputy Chief of Staff.
A statement signed by the Secretary to the Okrika LG Council, Oforiokuma Kwani, which announced the appointment, stated that the appointment is with immediate effect.
