More Recreation For Port Harcourt As Dansville Restaurant, Event Center Debuts In Glamour

Three years after it was razed by fire after a tanker laden with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) failed brake and ran it over, Dansville Catering and Events Centre opened on Sunday 13th December, 2020 amidst fanfare, glitz and glamour with the crème-de-la-crème of Port Harcourt, Nigeria’s oil and gas capital, in attendance.

The convergence of aesthetics in one building stood out the elegant edifice that Dansville Catering and Events Centre is, at once creating the assurance that patronage there would be compensated with awesome value in terms of good food, exquisite drinks, and conviviality.

On hand to dedicate the events centre was the Bishop of Evo Diocese of the Anglican Church, Rt. Rev. Innocent Ordu, his wife, Mrs. Chinyere Ordu, who were accompanied by other senior ministers of the gospel.

In his brief homily, Rt. Rev. Ordu exhorted that unpleasant situations are God’s tools for uplifting his children to greater heights and accessing more versatile opportunities, assuring that “God is in the picture of all that we go through in life”.

Referring to the conflagration that transpired in 2017, the revered cleric enjoined all to emulate the Psalmist David who continued praising God even in times of distress, noting that God allows certain difficulties for greater blessings.

Upon concluding his homily, the Bishop of Evo Diocese went on to unveil the building and all the facilities therein, including its five restaurants and VIP Lounge, front porch, and two event halls, among others.

Earlier, in his welcome address, the Director of Dansville Catering and Events Centre, Sir Amairigha Hart gave a narration of the tragedy that befell the previous edifice and how the resuscitated centre was an act of the divine hand of God.

Hart, a Knight of the Order of St Christopher informed that the support of friends, well-wishers, and family saw him and his wife, Lady Amonia Hart through that phase, propelling them to initiate and today deliver on the vision of better structure that aims at scaling up hospitality services standards and customer satisfaction to a whole new level in the Niger/Delta.

Appreciating the efforts of the Rivers State Government to improve ease of doing business across the state, Sir Amairiagha Hart expressed gratitude to the state governor, Nyessom Wike and the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Tammy Danagogo for their unquantifiable support that had resulted in the successful reopening of Dansville Catering and Event Center.

In his Opening Address, Chairman of the occasion, Steve Majebi, represented by his wife, Silverline Majebi praised the efforts deployed in establishing such a beautiful place, noting that Dansville remains legendary for delivery of topnotch and high value services.

She stated that recovering from the fire incident of 2017 was a divine doing geared towards greater placements, adding that “Ama and Amonia Hart have always been an inspiration to all of us”. 

For his part, Chief Abel Attoni extolled the dogged quest of Sir Amairigha Hart for excellence and value addition in all his endeavours, noting that in diverse spheres of human endeavour he has made forays, he excelled in them thus representing an epitome of excellence and endearing role model to his kinsmen in Grand Bonny Kingdom where he is a titled citizen.

Strategically perched at the edge of the Eliozu Flyover along the G.U. Ake Airport Link Road, five minute walk away from the Nigeria Air Force Vintage Gardens Housing Estate, Dansville Catering and Events Centre is easily accessible from different segments of the city.

As part of its unique and exquisite offerings, Dansville showcases the finest of food delicacies including national and continental cuisines, African delicacies, small chops, snacks, drinks of all kinds, the best of exotic wines, ice creams, shawarma, and lots more. Security at the centre is guaranteed by the continuous presence of special purpose personnel and its proximity to the precincts of the 115 Special Operations Group, Nigerian Air Force, Port Harcourt. 

Among the dignitaries at the event were the Paramount Ruler of Rumukwurusi Community, His Royal Highness, Simeon Wokoma, His Royal Highness, Chief Dikibugiri Lawson-Jack, Chairman, Board of the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH), Dr Nimi Hart, a former Commissioner for Special Duties, Emeka Nwogu, and Chairman of Bonny Kingdom Local Content Compliance Committee, Opuada Willie-Pepple.

Others were the National Vice President, Waste Management Society of Nigeria (WAMASON), Professor Sodienye Abere, Chairman of Bodo/Bonny Road Liaison Community, Waripanye Pepple, Director of Admissions, Rivers State University, Mrs. Inye Jamaica, and External Relations Adviser, Central East Hub, Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), Dr Increase Boma Orawari, among others.

There is no doubt that Dansville Catering and Events Centre is poised to transform the culinary, entertainment and hospitality business landscape of Port-Harcourt in days ahead given its wide array of superlative deliverables on offer.

Apparently, in contemplating its exquisite and exotic products and services every strata of society was captured for satisfaction, including the collection of courteous, well-dressed and welcoming staff that were all over the place attending to the most minute of guests’ needs.
