Miss Prestige Nigerian Tourism 2019 Pledges Support for Out-Of-School Children

Worried over the rate of out-of-school children in Rivers State, the winner of the Miss Prestige Nigeria Tourism 2019, Awaji-Oniro Hebron has promised to sponsor 100 out-of-school children back to school as schools resume by September.

Hebron made this pledge at a reception in her honour organize by youths of Andoni Local Government Area in Port Harcourt.

The beauty queen expressed sadness over the increasing rate of out-of-school children in the State, especially, in Egbeomu community in Andoni LGA.

The United Nations asserts that there are about 1.2 million out-of-school children in Nigeria with a greater percentage of these in the northern states of Nigeria.

Miss Prestige Nigeria Tourism 2019 disclosed that, as part of her pet project, she will distribute sanitary pads to young girls and women in Egbeomu community who were still using pieces of clothing materials during their monthly period.

The beauty queen, Awajioniro Hebron stated that she was pained to know that young girls and women in the area could not access sanitary pads as a result of uncivilization.
