The Chairman of the Bonny Kingdom Development Committee (BKDC), Amaopusenibo Amairigha Hart joins the global community to heartily felicitate with workers as they commemorate the May Day celebration, stressing on the significance of rest and rejuvenation.
In a felicitation message on Thursday, May 1, 2025, the BKDC Chairman applauded workers the world over, especially, those indigent or resident in Bonny, who, according to him, work tirelessly to ensure that they are able to make ends meet for themselves and their loved ones.

“For one to take up a task or see to it that ends are met, is a sign of responsibility. Such a person should be seen as honourable, and deserving of rest in order to refresh himself.”
He, however, pointed out that the essence of May Day is for relaxation and reassessment as well as rejuvenation, adding that rest is a panacea for optimum productivity in the workspace.
“It is important for workers to have a day of rest. This is not a time to just sit at home, eat and sleep. It is a moment to reflect, re-examine and find a balance so that upon resumption, you appear stronger and better.”
“It is important that we use this opportunity to re-evaluate ourselves, check out for flaws and work out modalities on how to render better services that we have done.”
Amaopusenibo Hart expressed his deep appreciation to the labour force in Bonny Island, noting their strategic contributions to the development of Bonny Kingdom.
He pointed out that “the input of workers in the various projects in the Island has ensured that the Bonny development landscape continues to improve”.
He admonished workers the world over to keep up with the pace of quality and standardized work and deployment of their best competences and knowledge in their respective duties.
