Market Women in Bonny Island have called for the election of Dame Anengi Claude-Wilcox, the incumbent Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State in the next local government elections.
Leader of the Bonny Market Women Association, Rhoda Iwowari made this call Friday, March 1, 2024 during a courtesy visit on the Bonny LGA Chairman at Government Lodge, Bonny.
Speaking on behalf of the market women, Iwowari, who is also the initiator of the Association, remarked that the visit was borne out of the need to ensure that the developmental strides being recorded under her leadership were sustained through her reelection in the next local government election.
She commended the Bonny LG Boss for making the female folks proud through impactful leadership assured her of the full support of members of the association.
Responding, the Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Dame Anengi Claude-Wilcox, described traders as active players and contributors to the economic growth of Bonny LGA.
She commended them for their resilience while urging them to remain steadfast in business, assuring that their sacrifices would not be forgotten.
The LGA Boss said she was inspired to do more for the people of Bonny by the kind words used in describing her little contribution.”
