LG Boss Orders Mandatory Profiling of Okada Operators

As part of measures to tighten security and maintain a database, the Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State, Amasenibo Abinye People has ordered the immediate profiling of all motorcycle operators in the area.

A statement by his Media and Communications Office on Sunday, June 14, 2026, disclosed that the exercise is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at the Government Lodge, Wing A, by 10am.

Consequently, all motorcyclists in Bonny LGA are to provide their National Identification Number (NIN) slip for proper identification.

The statement said the LG Council boss asserted that the exercise is mandatory as only profiled operators will be given a permit for operation.

Additionally, the Chairman also approved the provision of free safety vests and protective helmets for registered and profiled motorcyclists.

The statement further informed that the LG Council is collaborating with relevant security agencies to ensure it is hitchfree and successful.

The exercise, according to the statement, will be coordinated by the Chief Security Officer to the LGA Chairman, Prince Christy-Wilcox, assisted by the Special Adviser to the LG Chairman on Security Matters, Kalapapa Pollyn.

The Chairman maintained that the exercise is free and any demand for payment should be ignored and reported to his office.
