Nigeria took control of the contest early at Charlton Athletic’s The Valley, with debutant Femi Azeez making an instant impact.

Head coach Éric Chelle named a strong starting XI, handing Wrexham goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo a starting role ahead of Francis Uzoho.
The backline featured Enugu Rangers pair Obinna Ogbuke and Chibueze Oputa at full-back, while Igoh Ogbu partnered Chibuike Nwaiwu in central defence.

The breakthrough arrived within five minutes. Azeez announced himself on the international stage with a stunning strike from outside the box, giving Nigeria an early lead.
Zimbabwe responded positively and created opportunities before halftime, but Azeez’s superb opener remained the difference as the Super Eagles went into the break with a 1-0 advantage.

The second half resumed at a frantic pace, with both teams searching for the next goal. However, Nigeria quickly reasserted their dominance and controlled proceedings.

The decisive moment came in the 63rd minute when Terem Moffi produced a brilliant run into the penalty area.
The forward showed excellent awareness to square the ball across goal for Azeez, who calmly finished to complete his brace.
Azeez’s second goal effectively ended Zimbabwe’s hopes of a comeback and ensured the Super Eagles progressed to the Unity Cup final in convincing fashion.
Nigeria will be back in action on Saturday for the final showdown.
