Ex-Imo Deputy Governor, Eze Madumere Loses Father

A former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Eze Madumere, has lost his father, His Royal Highness, Eze Henry Anoruo Madumere.

The late King, who until his demise was the Traditional Ruler of Ezi-Mbieri Autonomous Community in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State, reportedly passed on to the great beyond on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the age of 93.

Eze Madumere was a revered monarch known for his wisdom, humility, and dedication to peace and community development. 

His reign brought unity, growth, and stability to his people in Ezi-Mbieri and beyond.

Until his death, he served faithfully as the royal father of Ezi-Mbieri, where he worked tirelessly to uphold cultural values and promote harmony among his subjects.

Reacting to the sad news, Prince Ezeakonobi Madumere described his late father as a great leader, a man of deep faith, and a true example of selfless service to humanity.

He said the late monarch lived a fulfilled life, leaving behind a legacy of love, discipline, and commitment to the well-being of others.

The late royal father had earlier made headlines in 2021 when he was kidnapped by gunmen but later regained his freedom after several days in captivity.

His passing has thrown the Ezi-Mbieri community and the entire Mbaitoli Local Government Area into mourning, as residents and traditional leaders continue to pay tribute to his memory.

Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by the family in the coming days
