Super Eagles squad reveal: Eric Chelle shakes things up with Osimhen omission and fresh legs
Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has released his squad list for the upcoming international friendlies against Iran and Jordan.

Most notably, the Super Eagles will be without their two biggest pillars from recent outings: former African Player of the Year Victor Osimhen and first-choice goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.
While the absence of Osimhen’s clinical finishing and Nwabali’s commanding presence between the sticks will be felt, their omission opens the door for a tactical reset.
In Nwabali’s absence, the battle for the number one shirt returns to a familiar trio, with Maduka Okoye, Adeleye Adebayo, and Francis Uzoho all recalled to prove their worth ahead of the March 27th clash in Antalya.
Fresh Blood: Fernandez, Otele, and Sor Earn Maiden Call-ups
While the veteran stars take a backseat, Chelle has signaled a new era by handing out three debut invitations to some of Europe’s most intriguing prospects.

Emmanuel Fernandez: The Glasgow Rangers defender earns his first senior nod, bringing a physical presence to a backline featuring regulars like Calvin Bassey and Semi Ajayi.
Philip Otele: Following a run of impressive form for Hamburger SV in Germany, the winger finally gets his chance to shine on the international stage.
Yira Sor: The Genk speedster, known for his blistering pace in the Belgian Pro League, adds a new dimension to a forward line that still boasts the likes of Ademola Lookman and Samuel Chukwueze.

The Super Eagles are scheduled to face Iran on Friday, March 27th, followed by a encounter with Jordan on Tuesday, March 31st.
With key figures missing, these matches serve as a high-stakes audition for the newcomers looking to seal their place in the national team setup.
