The Rector of Kenule Beeson Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic, Bori, Dr. Ledum Gwarah says his administration was ready to engage in partnerships and synergetic engagements that attract ideas and initiatives that would ensure value addition to the institution.
Dr. Gwarah, who said this when the Alumni Association of the Polytechnic led by its National President, Dr. Ugo Onyeka paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Bori, Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State, stated that such anticipated synergy and partnership with organizations and groups should upscale the institution’s development profile.
The Rector expressed his gratitude to the Polytechnic’s alumni for its sustained support, indicated his administration’s readiness to work with the Association towards achieving its set goals, calling on members of the Association to use their connections to facilitate and fast-track the accreditation of the four newly approved departments for the Polytechnic.
Earlier, the National President of the Polytechnic’s Alumni Association, Dr Ugo Onyeka said the Association visited to felicitate with Dr. Ledum Gwarah on his well-deserved appointment as Rector of the Polytechnic, commending him for the transformations he has brought to the school.
Dr Onyeka also informed that Rector that the Alumni Association has instituted an award for the best graduating student of the Polytechnic, clarifying that the award would be presented during the institution’s forthcoming convocation, noting that it was aimed to spur the students to work harder ginger lecturers to put in their best.
In attendance during the visit were the Polytechnic’s Registrar, Dr Emmanuel Onwuka, Bursar, Mrs. Ibiwari Wokoma, and Hon. Prince Ngor, Dr. Henry Anyakwor, Dr. Henry Kpunee, Mrs. Victoria Ockiya-Jackson, who are all officers of the Alumni Association, among others.
