Davido Submits ‘Oriade’ in Four Categories for 2027 Grammy Awards
Nigerian Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reportedly submitted his sixth studio album, Oriade, for consideration in four categories at the 69th Grammy Awards scheduled for Sunday, February 7, 2027, in Los Angeles, United States.
The reported submissions, published by TheCable Lifestyle on Tuesday, October 13, followed a list shared by The Grammy Guru on X on Monday, October 12, identifying the categories as Album of the Year, Best Global Music Album, Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, and Best Album Cover.

The development places Oriade among Davido’s reported entries for consideration at the forthcoming awards, although the submissions do not confirm that the album has secured a nomination or will win a Grammy.
The Grammy Guru announced the entries in a post captioned, “Davido’s Official Submissions for the 2027 #GRAMMYs (exclusive to The Grammy Guru):”
The list identified Oriade under four categories, while four other songs or collaborations associated with Davido were also listed for consideration in different categories.
The singer’s collaboration B4 B4, featuring Mayorkun and FOLA, was reportedly submitted for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance.

Another collaboration, Nakupenda, featuring TxC, Zlatan, Shoday, Scotts Maphuma and Al Xapo, was listed for Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance.
Davido’s Le Show, featuring Ayra Starr and French Montana, was reportedly entered for Best African Music Performance, while I Know Who I Be, featuring JAZZWRLD and GL_Ceejay, was listed for Best Music Video.
The reported entries bring the number of distinct songs or projects associated with the singer on the published list to five, with Oriade accounting for four category submissions.
The reports attributed the list to The Grammy Guru, and no separate direct statement from Davido confirming the submissions was identified in the sources reviewed.
The reported entries come as the Recording Academy’s first-round voting for the 2027 Grammy Awards runs from Monday, October 12, to Thursday, October 22, 2026.
According to the Academy’s published awards calendar, the nominees are scheduled to be announced on Monday, November 16, 2026, while final-round voting is scheduled to run from December 10, 2026, to January 7, 2027.
The 69th Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, February 7, 2027, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.
The distinction between submissions and nominations remains important because entries must pass through the Academy’s eligibility and voting processes before nominees are officially announced.
Davido previously received three nominations at the 66th Grammy Awards in 2024 for his album Timeless and the songs Unavailable and Feel.
The reported 2027 submissions represent another opportunity for the singer’s work to receive international recognition, particularly in categories covering global music, recording engineering and album artwork.
However, the final outcome will depend on the Recording Academy’s process, and the published submission list does not establish whether any of the entries will advance to the nomination stage.
The official nominees’ announcement on November 16 is expected to clarify which submissions have progressed to the next stage of the competition.
