Bonny Road Expansion: Evomec Projects 50 Years Lifespan, Assures on Quality, Durability
Evomec Global Services Limited (EGSL) says the road it is reconstructing in Bonny, Rivers State, which spans from the gate of the Bonny Oil and Gas Terminal (BOGT) to Coal Beach, will have a minimum of 50 years lifespan.
The company, which specializes in engineering, procurement and construction, also reiterated its commitment to deliver best quality in line with global best practices with regards to the road expansion project.


In separate interviews with Kristina Reports during a tour of the project site, some officials of the company gave updates on the status of the project, highlighting the intentionality of the construction giant in ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality assurance.
The engineers on the project, Stanley Nwosu and Cornelius Okparaugo, both projected the lifespan of the road between 70 and 80 years, but cautioned that when factor of safety is taken into account, 50 years becomes the baseline expectation for the road when completed.
They explained that the detailed implementation of the design as handed to the company by the project sponsor, the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG), saying Evomec remains committed to delivering quality and within record time.
Also speaking, the General Supervisor, Tamunotonye Jumbo stated that Evomec and its management team were committed to give commuters in Bonny a road that is of international standard, noting that “Evomec is doing this job as if it is his own because he is also part of Bonny”.

He called on residents, especially, those living around the project site to cooperate with the company by supporting its efforts to deliver the road on time and in good quality, warning against scooping sand from the site or taking away materials meant for the work.
He also appealed to motorists, particularly, commercial motorcycle riders, to be patient and avoid trespassing on the project site, pointing out that the project site was fully operational and requires that no aspect of it is breached.










Jumbo also pointed out that the company’s workforce accommodated majority of Bonny sons and daughters in diverse skills categories, noting that Evomec’s chief executive officer, High Chief Peter Esievo was very intentional in capturing indigenes and residents on the project, saying that “it is our own way to reducing unemployment in Bonny”.
Since its appointment as the implementer of the road expansion project, Evomec Global Services Limited (EGSL) has commenced the construction of the project with the earth work, sand stabilization, and precasting, among other things.
