The Bonny Local Government Council will sustain the robust relationship it has with the Nigerian Navy, Chairman of the LGA, Dame Anengi Claude-Wilcox has said.
A statement by the Press Secretary to the Chairman of Bonny LGA, Boma Waribor disclosed that Dame Claude-Wilcox said this on Thursday, February 15, 2024 in her remarks when she received the incoming Commanding Officer of the Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base (NNFOB), Bonny, Capt. Maksum Mohammed and his predecessor, Commodore Reginald Adoki, in Government Lodge, Bonny, Rivers State.
She used the occasion to assure residents that efforts have already been redoubled to totally stamp out cult activities as well as other related criminal tendencies on the Island with accompanying prosecution of all culprits.
Earlier, the outgoing Commanding Officer of the NNFOB, Bonny, Commodore Reginald Adoki had seized the opportunity to recount his accomplishments while in Bonny LGA, which cuts across health outreaches, secondary school workshops, depletion of sea piracy and illegal bunkering.
According to him, these accomplishments were all crowned by the support and backing he got from the Bonny Local Government under the leadership of Dame Claude-Wilcox, assuring of the competence, experience and resilience of his successor.
