Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Dame Anengi Wilcox has called for increased involvement of sound minds and credible citizens from the area in Politics at the state and local government levels.
Dame Wilcox, who said this on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 during an Interactive Round-Table with the Bonny Improvement Association (BIA) in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, averred that Bonny indigenes have all it takes to get there.
In a statement by her Deputy Press Secretary, Boma Waribor, the Bonny LGA chief executive said focused on security, sanitation, human capital development, infrastructure and dislodgement of illegal refineries, stressing that this was to spotlight the commercial and tourism potentials of the area.
She noted that she has been on top of her game to ensure Bonny LGA remained occupied a notable place not just in Rivers State but Nigeria at large, expressing her readiness to collaborate with the Bonny Improvement Association on developmental issues.
She asserted that it was time for BIA to jump on the scheme of things as the era when Bonny took the back seat was over, attributing her successes to the support of the State Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, whom she described as her principal, and other stakeholders.
In his remark, the President of the BIA Port Harcourt Branch, Professor Sodienye Abere said they sought for the interactive meeting in a bid to exchange views with the LGA boss towards moving Bonny to the next level, commending her for scaling up the reputation of Bonny LGA.
