Award, Anglican Church’s Endorsement of Efforts At Promoting Bonny Kingdom – Media Chief

The awards of honour conferred on select indigenes of Bonny Kingdom over the weekend has been described as the endorsement of the Anglican Communion on efforts at promoting the agelong positive values and ancient history of Grand Bonny Kingdom.

Publisher and Chief Executive Officer of Kristina Reports, Godswill Jumbo came out with this position shortly after being conferred with an Award of Honour as Christ Ambassador alongside eight others by the Anglican Youth Fellowship (AYF) of the St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Abalamabie, Bonny on Sunday, August 22, 2021, during her 2021 Parish Youth Anniversary.

“Kristina Reports has been doing a lot to promote Bonny Kingdom and its values and positive points. I see this award as an endorsement of our efforts by the Anglican Church, and we are grateful that our efforts are noted, especially, by the church.”

He expressed appreciation for the award, noting that though he is averse to awards but “this particular award aligns with my life principles of service to God and seeking the best for humanity,” stressing that the “Anglican Youth Fellowship of this church has done well in pursuing objectives that add value to the lives of young people and help them fulfil their potentials”.

Jumbo was honoured alongside the President, Bonny Graduates Forum (BGF), Awoiyeala Allison, Government Liaison Officer (GLO), Evomec Global Services Limited (EGSL), Emmanuel Wilcox, Dave Banigo, Progress Longjohn, Minaibim Hart, Stephen Banigo, Favour Pepple, and Victoria Fila.

Earlier, two members of the church, Juliet Jumbo and Esther Pepple were also appointed patrons of the AYF.

Delivering his homily, the Guest Minister, Collins Banigo exhorted the congregants about the need for deep and soul searching reflections on the reality of eternity, pointing out that a life well lived was that which is lived for God and contributory to the realization of God’s desires for mankind.

Also, speaking, the Royal Father of the day, Wari-Alabo Harrigan Pepple, who spoke through Kalada Pepple, commended the AYF for contemplating such a wonderful programme aimed at improving the lives of the youths, promising to support the drive to continuously add value to the lives of the youths.

On his part, the Vicar of St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Abalamabie, Rogers Jumbo thanked the awardees for coming, informing that the church under his leadership is committed to the development of society, especially, the youths who were being groomed to contribute meaningfully and strategically to the progress of the society and the communities they come from.  

Speaking, the President of the Anglican Youth Fellowship of St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Abalamabie, Iboroma Hart thanked the special guests and awardees for honouring the event with their presence and generic support, disclosing that prior to the anniversary event, the AYF had sponsored the training of some youths of the church in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Driving, and Fashion Designing.

He said that the beneficiaries of the Phase 1 Skill Empowerment Scheme include Otonye Lawson and Godswill Pepple (Driving with BJI Driving School, Finima), Ibimina Pepple (Hair Dressing with Kelechi Beauty Salon, Abalamabie), and Joseph Longjohn, Nengi Longjohn, Stella Hart, Mildred Pepple and Fedora Pepple (Computer Training with Pats Computers, Abalamabie).

Highlight of the event was the issuance of certificates by the respective organizations that provided the training to the beneficiaries.
