Adada Killing: Suspect in Police Custody as Abua/Odual Chairman Calls for Justice

A suspect in the killing of a man in Adada Community, Odual, Rivers State, is in police custody and undergoing investigation, Abua/Odual Local Government Area Chairman, Owolobi Michael, has confirmed.

Michael disclosed this while reacting to the incident, stating that he immediately contacted security agencies upon receiving reports of the killing and directed them to move swiftly to restore peace and ensure the perpetrators were brought to justice.

He commended the police for their prompt response and praised residents of Adada Community for maintaining peace following the incident.

The chairman also sympathised with the bereaved family, describing the killing as tragic and stressing that no disagreement should ever justify taking another person’s life.

He urged community chiefs, Community Development Committee (CDC) chairmen and other community leaders to be proactive in resolving disputes and managing community affairs to prevent conflicts from escalating into violence.

Michael explained that his administration established the CDC Chairmen’s Forum to strengthen communication between communities and the local government council and facilitate the prompt resolution of community-related issues.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting security agencies in protecting lives and property and ensuring that communities remain safe for residents to live and carry out their daily activities.

He added that the authorities would be supported in ensuring that justice takes its course.
