Okrika-Borikiri Link Bridge: King Ateke’s Support Critical to Project, Engineer Says, Promises 6 Months Delivery Timeline
The support of the Amanyanabo of Okochiri Kingdom, His Royal Highness, King Ateke Tom, was critical to the commencement of the Okrika-Borikiri Link Bridge, the project implementer, ProMax International Limited has said.
Th project engineer, El Masri disclosed this in an interview with Kristina Reports on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at the project site in Olomu-Ogbogbo Community in Port Harcourt Local Government Area of Rivers State.

He stated that the 3.1kilometer road project will have three bridges traversing three rivers and is expected to be delivered within a six months’ timeline as long as funding is sustained by the sponsor, NDDC.
“We have started the bridges from the critical side… very soon, they will see the traces, because we have started the bridges from the critical side.”
Masri informed that work has already started from the Okrika ATC Waterside, noting that the support of the Okochiri monarch has critical in ensuring a peaceful environment around the project site.
“That’s why you see everywhere is cool, and everything is fine. So, we have started from Okrika already,” he said.
“You know, this time around it is how the government move out and everything determined, you know, job sometimes low, sometimes goes up, but we have enough. 6 months.”
Upon completion, the road is expected to ease commuting between Okrika and Borikiri, as well as open up that axis for greater economic activities to thrive.
