LG Chairman Commends Fishing Settlements for Contributions to Bonny Economy

The Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State, Dame Anengi Claude-Wilcox has expressed delight over the contributions of fishing settlements in the area to the economic development of the LGA.  

A statement signed by her Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Sotonye Longjohn said Dame Claude-Wilcox came out with this on Thursday, March 21, 2024 when she received in audience leaders of fishing settlements around Bonny LGA.

Noting that the impact of fishing and other businesses on the development of the local economy in Bonny LGA was commendable, the Bonny LGA boss pledged to sustain her administration’s all-inclusive governance drive for the benefit of both urban and rural dwellers.

She urged her guests to align with the government’s vision of building an egalitarian society where hardwork pays, lawful enterprise rewards and where each person is safe and secure to pursue their individual and collective aspirations.

Speaking earlier on behalf of the Settlements, Beauty Don-Pedro said the visit was to felicitate with the LGA Boss on the 2024 Mothering Sunday celebration and commend her achievements in office.

She pledged the unalloyed support of residents of the fishing settlements for her government and continuation of her tenure, praying God Almighty to continuously avail her the wisdom, courage and strength to steer the ship of Bonny LGA.
