Only 48 hours after their wedding, Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Colonel Hameed Ali (retd), and his new wife, Zainab Abdullahi Yahaya, may be in for hard times as the latter’s ex-lover showed up demanding settlement.
Yahaya’s former fiancée, Zubairu Dalhatu Malami is demanding for a refund of over nine million naira expended during his botched relationship with Ali’s newly wedded wife.
Reports say the Comptroller General had married a new wife at a low-key ceremony in Kano State on Saturday, May 30, 2020, which came almost two years after Ali’s first wife, Hajiya Hadiza Jummai Ali, died in Abuja.
Their marriage according to report is blessed with four children, before being appointed as Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Malami, who made the demands through a Kano State based law firm, Buba Partners, claims that his investment on his then fiancée, Zainab Abdullahi Yahaya, was a precursor of her continuous promise to marry him.
He added that after an argument over the rationale behind her abrupt change of plans, she ordered him to calculate his total expenses on her for a possible refund.
The ex-lover is accusing Zainab of deceit, mischievous acts, and bridge of trust relationship.
He threatens to approach the courts if his demands are not met.
Ali who had previously served as military administrator of Kaduna State from 1996 to 1998 is yet to react to the development as at press time.
