The Chief and Head of the Jack-Manilla Pepple Chieftaincy House, Wari-Alabo Sir Iganima Jack-Manilla Pepple, since assuming office, has worked assiduously to achieve numerous infrastructure projects which now stand as a challenge to his fellow chiefs, the Chief and Head of Attoni House, Se-Alabo Abel Adafe Attoni has said.
Se-Alabo Attoni said this on Thursday, December 28, 2023 during the commissioning of the renovated and remodelled Aru Wari, Owu-Ogbo Egwa and Shore Protection project at Olom-Abalama (Oguede) in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State.
“You are challenging us and this your challenge I’m sure that some of us will not be able to meet up with this challenge.
“I consider it a privilege that I’m the one called upon to commission these laudable projects. I was here on the 30th of July in the year 2022 when the Wari Alabo was installed.”
“Since then I’ve had calls to attend one commissioning or the other, and, of course, we’ve had cause to come to Oguede severally.”
“I remember very well that the last time we came here the Amakiri was not where it used to be. They said they’ve built a modern house for it, so, congratulations!”
He noted that sacrificial services rendered to the community and kingdom attract the blessings of the ancestors, urging Wari-Alabo Jack-Manilla Pepple to sustain his developmental strides for his community and Bonny Kingdom.
“I believe that, as a servant of this kingdom, whatever we do here will have the blessings of our fathers, spiritual and temporal, and that the ancestors of this land will continue to bless this house; that where there are obstacles, they will be removed and that you will continue to have exceeding grace and continue to soar high.”
“We pray that the blessings that you have will always touch our own houses and that in due time with good focus that the kingdom will grow from strength to strength for the glory of Bonny.”
On his part, the Chief and Head of the Jack Manilla-Pepple House of Bonny Kingdom, Wari-Alabo Sir Iganima Jack-Manilla Pepple thanked his guests for being part of history making for Olom-Abalama Community, noting that the projects were part of the second anniversary of his installation as Chief and Head of the House.
He added that the projects were geared towards entrenching the traditional and cultural ethos of the Olom-Abalama people and Bonny Kingdom, assuring that the trend of delivering people-oriented projects will be sustained during his time as Head of the House.
Earlier, a former Chairman of the House, Amaopusenibo Fred Pepple noted that the projects, which he described as “beautifully executed” are not only important but also needed to promote effective teaching and learning of the Ibani traditions and customs, encouraging the learning of the Ibani language, saying that it stands as a gateway for prosperity.
In attendance at the event were a former member of the House of Representatives; Amaopusenibo Tonye Longjohn, former Rivers State Commissioner for Finance; Amaopusenibo Israel Williams, and a former Commissioner for Police Medicals, South-South, Amaopuorubo Margaret Hart.
