The Nigeria LNG, in its bid to cushion the harsh effects of the restrictions on human and vehicular movement and business activities and the consequential downturn in the economy, distributed palliatives including rice, beans, garri, noodles, vegetable oil, and other condiments to its host communities, including Bonny LGA.

The Jumbo Major House, under the leadership of the Chairman of the house’s Elders’ Council, Wari-Alabo Sodienye Jumbo, received and distributed the palliatives to the various burusu (sub houses) that make up the Jumbo Major House.

Orupiri Community is populated by the Ibinyesiari Burusu (sub house), who are descendants of the late Apiafi Jumbo, a nephew of the long deceased founder of the house, Ibinyesiari Jumbo.

The ODF Chairman explained that the Nigeria LNG has shown thoughtfulness and empathy in the face of the hardship facing the people of the area during the lockdown occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to him, the palliative will go a long way to assuage the sufferings of the people, calling on other multinationals to emulate the good gesture of the Nigeria LNG by also making interventions in their host communities in these trying times.
